The Girl on the Train- Paula Hawkins

Okay so I jumped on the hype and read the book on holiday and the film is fast approaching.
Firstly I'll start off by saying that it's the best book I've read so far this year and I get through books quickly. It's a bit confusing at the beginning but after you get used to the characters and you become suddenly very drawn in, I read it in 2 days by the pool and couldn't put it down.
The twists and turns are a surprising element but in that respect it's very similar to Gone Girl. I enjoyed it and will be passing my copy on to the girls as I know they will also be excited to read it.
All I will say is prepare for the unexpected.
I'd give it 4 **** as it was a fascinating read.

Tiger Days and the secret cat- Sarah Lean

Tiger Days

I work in a Primary School and we are always looking for new literature to spark the children's interests and this book certainly did that. It now sits proudly in our school library so it can inspire other children.
The story is about a 9 year old girl called Tiger Days she is off on an adventure she is going to visit her grandmother who she hasn't seen for a long time. It shows how their relationship changes and how change can sometimes be really good for you. I don't want to give to much away as I want you to read the book and share it with the children you know.
Tiger is spritely and independent and she is obsessed with tigers, she loves all things animal and she will meet some suprising allies along the way.
This is a captivating story about love, friendship, laughter, bravery and determination. Tiger is passionate about helping animals and she will find she falls in love with the most unlikely creatures.
I'm going to pre order the next book as the children were hooked and couldn't wait to find out more about the wonderful world Sarah Lean  has created.
The illistrations are beautiful and I love the flowers in the corners of the pages.

The next instalment is out on the 25th of August and is called Tiger Days and the moonlight foxes. Go check it out.

Image result for Me Before You Book
This is a captivating story about a very unlikely love. Meet Louisa Clark very clumsy, dozy to some extent still lives with her parents she feels very connected to them. She loses her job unfortunately and she isn't really qualified to do anything so she finds a job as a carer with good pay. Enter Will Traynor handsome 20 something successful business man who unfortunately got hit by a car and is left paralysed. He's sarcastic and rude and she's quirky and a try hard. They don't see eye to eye at first but they form an unspoken bond. He tells her she's the only thing to get up for in the mornings. Louisa finds out he wants to die so she trys to change his mind. She can't and he does choose to die. She then has to get over him.
The follow up book is me after you, the story touched my heart but unfortunately it's just not the ending your routing for by the end of the book, a must read for summer.

Lose yourself in a book!

If I ever have any spare time I pick up my kindle or a book and it's a great way to lose yourself in someone else's world if only for just a little while. I work within an education setting and I love the way children get so involved with reading and how the story captures their imaginations I think its magical, just like books like Harry Potter, Narnia and Lord of the rings captured my imagination and I genuinely think that is where my love of books has come from and I couldn't be happier. It something I will be passing on to my own children one day.

Book quote of the week

Such an Oldie but a goodie, Harry Potter has been one of my favourite books since I was a child. It's one of the best quotes in my opinion, it really makes you think. There's always a positive to every negative.

One Day- David Nicholls

I love a romantic book that makes you believe in love again and this is that 2 people meet in a random situation and they really aren't a likely friendship pairing but they click on a platonic level or at least so they think. Dexter and Emma need there friendship more than they need the others love or so think.
Over the years they become best friends and they rely on each other for everything and in truthfulness they can't live through parts of their lives without consulting the other one first.
In the end they realise they have to be together but sometimes that's just a little too late and the other has moved on, when it finally hits him he goes and fights for her but she knows she loves him already.
Loves young dream don't get to be together for ever as Emma tragically dies and leaves Dexter to cope alone which he cannot do without her.

The book was amazing so well written, it broke my heart and if I'm honest when they turned it into the film I was disappointed as it didn't live up to my expectations.

PS I love you- Cecila Ahern

This is the book I always go back to, It's every girls dream romance in the beginning who doesn't love a guy they can actually argue with.
Basically it's about a couple who met in Ireland what I love about them is neither one is perfect. Holly and Gerry have a love hate relationship with each other, it's what makes them likable.
Gerry gets diagnoised with Cancer early on and Holly nurses him until his unfortunate passing.
She struggles to live life without him so she locks herself away, until her birthday when friends and family rally round to get her out of her funk.
She receives a letter from Gerry who has written to her for all the next major steps in moving on.
After months of letters and a surprise trip, she realises that her friends are moving on without ones getting married the other is pregnant, she just loses hope her person who she thought she would be with forever is gone and they never got a chance to have a future.
Fast forward and the last letter arrives, she must move on and not be afraid of falling in love again.
The story broke my heart as you can feel her pain, you can never imagine how that feels.
100% a must read or in my case I must have read it 50 times, it makes you want to move to Ireland and meet your very own Gerry.
